Hello all listers.
I wanted to let you know about 2 new email lists hosted at
TheMacintoshGuy.com, one for Automator and the other for Dashboard.
Both lists are intended for regular end user type discussion. Heavy
development type questions should be relegated to some of the other
development based lists that have been created such as Apple's
Dashboard-dev list.
We would also like to welcome Tiger users to all of our Mac OS X
based lists:
X Users
X Newbies
X Servers
X Software
X Hardware
X Unix
X Dreams

Has anyone tried to use Automator to get Photos from iPhoto, pass
them to the "Review Photos" Action so that you can "Edit" its Title
and Filename? If so, how did you pull that off? All my results
displays each image but the Field isn't editable. What purpose does
that serve when you need to Edit and change over (1400) iPhoto Image
Titles... (Yes, I know I can directly Edit within iPhoto but it
would be nice to select/query certain photos first, etc).
All feedback here would be greatly appreciated -
Thanks in advance -
J.

Subject: [Automator] import photos into iphoto action hanging
Message-ID: <1818F192-3103-44DD-8E48-4E6D9874293F@bravo5.org>
Good afternoon, all. I'm trying to put together a workflow to copy
images off a compact flash card (via a card reader) into a local
directory, and then import those images into iPhoto. When I add the
"Import Photos into iPhoto" action to my workflow (even when it's the
only action) Automator does the spinning beachball thing, and doesn't
come back. At least, it doesn't come back in any reasonable amount
of time. I've got 3-4 thousand images in my iPhoto library, as I
recall. When I do the same steps on my powerbook with only 2 images
in the library, it comes back, but slowly.
I know this has been reported as a bug with Apple, but I'm wondering
if anyone's found a work-around? I'm thinking this fairly simple
action can be performed via applescript, so I could probably cobble
that together without too much work, but I was hoping for a less
drastic work-around.
Thanks,
B

Subject: [Automator] Paste from Clipboard Action?
Message-ID: <09E05809-50C3-41B7-A582-4DD4BE6D9EF6@wmblake.com>
I'm just starting to fool with Automator and BBEdit. I used the Copy
to Clipboard action to save an intermediate value, but I can't find
the equivalent Paste from Clipboard Action to restore it. Am I
missing something?
Thanks.
