[CUBE] Help me......I'm desperate

Sounds like you might have an incompatible driver consuming all of the 
CPU cycles.  Try this: Open the process viewer (In the applications 
folder).  Look to see what process is consuming all of the processing 
time.  I had the HP driver for my HP PhotoSmart 1115 would slowly slow 
down the machine until the HP Communications app was consuming 99% of 
the CPU time.
   Alternatively you can open a terminal window and use top.
