more [ polite ] master slave stuff

hi

just a quick check as Panther is failing to install on my Cube, how are
everyone's master / slave settings?

This HD is master and the DVDROM is slave.

Apple sent me to look at KBase where it says OS X will only install from a
Master but I dont know this [ and he was just reading from a webpage ].

It boots, greys, the gear spins but then hits a blue screen and stops.

Booting into Verbose Mode comes up with SAM multimedia error messages, if anyone
is up to speed on geek I post them, possible a RS232 error but those didnot
ring bells with Apple. Similarly unable to install in Single User mode.

Just preliminary as I must try the CD in another Mac [ it copies fine, the Cube
passes the hardware test and there is only new good Kingston RAM in it.
