DVD export via FireWire

Hey all,

Anyone know if Apple's DVD player, or any other, can push a video 
signal out of the FireWire port? I bought a Dazzle Video Bridge a 
couple of years back for a slide-to-video project, and it occurred to 
me that I could avoid buying a DVD player for my TV over the short 
term if I could use the Dazzle. (Seems crazy to have to buy a DVD 
player when both my Cube and my iBook have one already.)
