Actually I turned it up  to maximum brightness.  I really don't think 
it would look that bad under normal conditions...I don't know what it 
is about the lighting in that particular apple store, but all the lcd 
screens looked dark and washed out.  Previously, my only experience 
with seeing an imac was at the apple store.  I looked at the screen and 
thought how unimpressive it was.  I wondered how they could sell any of 
them.  When I saw the imac in the compusa I was like "Holy crap!  That 
screen looks gorgeous"  It was so bright and sharp....  I just find it 
very very strange.
