Bob,

Please consider this before you spend your money:

In general Formac has good h/w devices (I own the Studio which is an 
analog/digital audio/video converter incl. TV and FM radion) but the 
software they built on top of that to support their hardware just 
sucks. Their software for the Studio is still not supporting the FM 
radio capabilities I have in my device and the TV application barely 
can synch audio/video. I even consider buying ElGato's EyeTv (soon to 
be available in a European PAL version) even though I spent a lot of 
money for this Studio device.
I downloaded the Devideon software to see how it looked (you can use it 
to decode a small amount of footage to DVD format, without actually 
having the Devideon hardware device) but it is very simplistic software 
which does not do justice to the amount of money you spend on the 
hardware device.
The good story is that DVD Studio Pro will work with it (it has no 
problems with external Firewire DVD burners); the bad story is that 
DVDSP is way too expensive and the even worse story is that iDVD won't 
support the device.
We'll have to wait for DVD Studio Express, I guess....
