internal modem

Are there known issues with the internal modem in the 450 mhz cube?
I am trying to use it for faxes. I don't think that I have a software 
issue.
I have tried various things to troubleshoot this. I have reinstalled 
the software and checked that the phone line was attached to the port 
securely.I would appreciate comments on testing the modem. I use a dsl 
modem for the internet.
