Kunga,

I tried it on my non-DVD iBook and was able to play a DVD file that I 
also downloaded to my hard drive. Before that, it was impossible to 
even install the DVD Player application on the iBook. The patch takes 
away from the application a routine that checks to see if a DVD drive 
is installed.

But it also works to allow external DVD drives to be used so I 
understand from the post below.

I don't believe it has anything to do with iDVD.
