radeon 9000 - sometimes boot sometimes not

anyone experienced something like this ?

after all successfully installed radeon 9000 moving DC board and all
this....(my respect to all of you, who managed this - it´s a tricky thing)
when the cube is running the card is working really great.

but the cube seems to forget something every time it´s switched from power,
or after sleep mode.
the screen stays black while hard disk sounds like normal booting/waking up.
when i do pram resetting by keyboard the next boot works fine with display.
sometimes booting into firmare works - sometimes not - and typing reset-all
leads to a new boot and a working screen.

put in a new battery .
Also did the PMU reset by the (cuda?) switch on the motherboard like
described in the apple manual
with no result

after installing the old Geforce 2Mx back booting worked fine every time.
