[CUBE] Still having problems with Cube Hard Drives

I'd say that it easily could be a heat problem. At least my 80 GB WD 
had the same symptoms until I put the fan in. Don't rely on temp 
measuring software - they measure CPU temp (poorly). Touch your HD and 
you will see what I mean :)
