Cubers:

Received my Gigadesigns upgrade TODAY from OWC, after
ordering on Tuesday. Here's a summary:

The GOOD:

It works, I am writing from my newly upgraded cube
running OSX 10.3.1. The cpu and cache are properly
recognized. No "resume from sleep" issues thus far
(2-3 sleep/resume cycles). With the "correct" jumper
settings for fanless operation in my cube (1 Gig
memory, 80 gig HD), it is running at a 900MHz cpu.

The BAD:

The package comes with NO INSTRUCTIONS of any kind and
no thermal paste. Shipped nicely packed, but you neeed
to have some idea of what you are doing.

You can and should use the PowerLogix CPU install
video which you can find linked off the Powerlogix or
cubeowner web sites.

Overall:

A low voltage, fanless option is great. This install
is not for anyone who is timid about a fairly complete
disassembly of your cube. you might help yourself by
having a egg carton and some post-its so you can label
screws as they are removed. The cube has several screw
that really below in particular places (as pointed out
clearly in the PL video). Overall install time was
about 90 minutes, including a 15 minute break to walk
the dog and having a few minor mis-steps which
required dis-assembly of case bits to get everything
perfect (no extra screws when completed...)

Hope this helps,

John
