eject problem again

A while back I saw a post here about cleaning the rollers that draw in 
the cd and spit it out.  I did that, but they were not really that 
dirty.  It has not yet begun to eject the cds properly.

1.  are the rubber rollers supposed to be able to spin freely on their 
axle?  Mine do, I was tempted to glue them to the axle, but I don't 
know.  If there is resistance on the cd it then the gears might strip.

2. Are these little rollers supposed to taper slightly in the center or 
are they supposed to be cylindrical?  Mine taper.  Again, I don't know 
if they should be like that.

any thoughts?
