[Cube] 10.3.6 upgrade problems...

After upgrading  to 10.3.6, Mail, Safari, SW Updater, Disk Utility, 
etc... (all Apple programs) either would not run at all - or would 
start to run, then do the spinning beachball of death routine...

All non-Apple software performed normally.

fsck found nothing. Resetting OF & PR had no effect.

Replacing Mail & Safari with working copies from another Cube did not 
work - they bounce on the dock a few times, nothing else happens...

Any ideas gratefully accepted!!
