Melanie,

You can use any ATA-100 hard disk available. They are perfectly compatible with your Cube's ATA-66.
Mine is a 80Gb Seagate Barracuda IV, and my Cube is dead silent and faster than with the original 20Gb Maxtor.
Yes, you can still use Mac OS 9.x (and get ready for Mac OS X ;)

For a step-by-step help, nothing better than visiting the FAQ section of < http://www.cubeowner.com/ >

Good luck,
LM

Hi Everyone,
I've been reading your comments and questions for quite some time with the hopes of Upgrading my Cube in June. However just as my luck goes my hard drive is on its last legs. I downloaded the installation guide on apple's website, but I still have a few questions because I've never done this before and I know you guys and gals can help me.

Do I have to replace the Hard Drive with an ATA-66 or can I use the ATA-100? What is the best replacement drive under 100GB?

Once I get the new Hard Drive can I use the Discs that came with the Cube to Reinstall the OS (I will be using my OS 9 for now to save money)? If some one could give me a step by step on this process you will have made my day!

THANK YOU

MELANIE
