[Cube] OS X.3 vs. OS X.2?

Greetings Cube Brain Trust,

Well, sonce OS X.4 came out, I figured it was about time I upgraded to X.3 (I know, I know).  Anyway, I did my TiBook first, and things look a little different, but so far it's been the easiest upgrade of any OS X version.  The Cube is about 70% along in the upgrade and so far no problems there either.

I got the DVD version marked 10.5 and I'm wondering what the second disk is for, since it did the entire upgrade with just a single disk.

Also, I have the original G3 iBook with a 500MHz processor.  Is this upgrade OK for a G3?
