Let this be a lesson to all who read it, running any computer without  
a UPS is a recipe for disaster. They coast almost nothing and will  
save you hundreds or thousands of dollars over their lifetime. I am  
constantly amazed at how many people don't have a UPS between their  
Macs and the wall. INSANE!
