Sony VAIO CD-ROM drive with PB2400

Hi. Has anyone succeeded in using a Sony PCGA-CD5 external CD-ROM 
drive from a VAIO laptop with a PB2400c? If so, I'd appreciate some 
help.

I've got the drive's PC card plugged into my CardBus-enabled 2400, 
and the card's icon (labeled "NinjaATA") appears on the desktop. 
However, I can't mount any CD-ROM. The only driver I have is the 
standard Apple CD/DVD driver and it doesn't help. I presume some 
other driver is needed. Can anyone offer some help?

Am using a PB2400c/180  80MB RAM  OS 8.5 .
