Has anybody tried this? Is there a cheaper way? Thanks for your help. If that is the case something like the Logitech Play Link might work, it would be 11Mbps/second (802.11b speeds) but on a 2300 that shouldn't be a huge deal anyway. I have one that I use to get internet to my Xbox, one box at your router, the other at your Docking station and you're good to go. It also uses RF signals to avoid interference. You can find them pretty cheap these days: http://www.pacificgeek.com/product.asp?c=225&s=1301&ID=38184&P=F -- /\/ () /-\ |-| \/\/ () () |) PowerBook G3 333MHz iMac G5 1.9GHz Custom PC, AMD 2.2GHz Boxbe: MW9518BM From benswoodard at yahoo.com Mon Apr 14 17:24:50 2008 From: benswoodard at yahoo.com (Ben Woodard) Date: Mon Apr 14 17:25:57 2008 Subject: [DuoList] wireless internet with duo In-Reply-To: <1721739b0804141501k247716bdu54f657fe40af8952@mail.gmail.com> Message-ID: <277794.1635.qm@web65602.mail.ac4.yahoo.com> Thanks for the reply, Noah. No actually I was thinking about using it on the road. I normally take my Wallstreet, but it is so heavy and I like to travel light. I was hoping there might be some way to use the Duo. Some hotels used to have ethernet but most are wireless now. I just need to check email so speed is not a requirement. A few years ago, in an attempt to do just what you're trying to do, I found this clip-on wireless Ethernet bridge on Ebay; it's about the size of a 10-year-old garage-door opener(!), but it did work. Of couse, it needed to be plugged in... but it did have a browser-enabled setup page. So I utilized it with my Newer Etherdock and was able to (gasp!) be wireless on my 2300c!! I even once took it to my local Apple store -- after knowing beforehand what the wifi SSID was to set it up at home -- and located a power outlet to sit by, and was wowin' the Genius Bar with wifi on a machine made years before wifi was around...! I forgot the bridge has to be plugged in, so it's not completely wireless, but it certainly should work in hotels and such.
