What you need to remember is that when you do updates with Software update
vs. downloading them you are doing the updates and installs a totally
different way. Don't get pissy, it was just a suggestion. I have had it
happen to me personally, that's why I suggested it. I can't imagine even
doing some of the software updates over a dial-up, with some of the sizes of
the updates.
