[G4] vanishing pointer in 10.2.5

I had this problem a bit ago but was pointed to my new mouse pad.
Something about the mouse being Optical and my mouse pad being a 3D image of
Harlan Ellison didn't work together.

Try taking your mouse off of the mouse pad or try another pad and see if
that helps.(?)
