BINGO. We have found a problem ...
When I open the Classic 9.2.2 TCP/IP Control Panel (from within OS X),
the system complains that the network connection is "unavailable -- now
switching to Mac IP".
Which presents another problem ...

The larger problem seems to be that I'm locked out of the Classic TCP/IP
Control Panel under OS X. I can open it from within OS X, but it gives
me "no" choices --- the drop down menu is stuck on "Mac IP". (In fact,
the GUI outline which forms the "button" for network choices is not even
drawn --- the "Mac IP" text just appears as a header in the dialog box.)
If I boot back into Classic, the Classic TCP/IP control panel works just
fine. I can easily switch from "Mac IP" back to "Ethernet" and connect
to the LAN and the Internet perfectly fine.
If I then reboot into OS X, the problem repeats --- network connection is
"unavailable -- now switching to Mac IP".
Strange.
Anybody have any ideas?
Cheers,
jeff
