[G4] iTunes problems

it has more to do with the player itself than the media. some cd 
players (fewer now than 5 years ago) just dont like to read cd-r's. and 
some dvd players (fewer now than 1-2 years ago) simply refuse to read 
dvd-r's.

its basically a support that the drive manufacturer needs to build in.
