10.2.3 seems to break Remote Desktop

Anyone out there using Remote Desktop? I do quite a bit but hadn't 
since I updated to 10.2.3, until this weekend, tossed it on my 
Girlfriend's iBook and my Pismo [I normally do it between my G4 and my 
Pismo and it works very slick, AirPort rocks].

Regardless, it doesn't work now, no Preference Pane in System Prefs any 
more ... it doesn't see the other Mac that Remote Desktop is on until 
you login and open ARD on that Mac, and then it will often refuse your 
user name and password.

Been trying since Saturday, reinstalled, even reinstalled 10.2.3 [just 
got a new hard drive, was going to do it anyways]. All to no avail.

Ideas?
