G-4 or G-5 purchase?

This has got to be the question on everyones
mind that is in the market for a new Mac:
I have the opportunity to buy either a 
G4 now or wait until August for the G5.

If I purchased a Dual 1.25 G4 now, what should
I watch for in the transaction to get the most
out of this decision for the years to come?
Is the G5 that much more of a leap forward?

Would an EasyQuest Cobra External do the trick?

that smells of trouble.... = 0  first thing i would do is backup, then 
continue your normal life.
