Using a US Desktop machine in Europe

I'll be living in Czech Republic (probably at least one other European 
country as well) for at least six months working on a photo/video 
project. I'm buying a Tibook in a couple months for mobility but I'm 
bringing my G4 tower.

I know I'll have to buy a voltage converter rather than just an adapter 
for electronics that will be used as much as a desktop computer.

Does anyone have any experience with this setup? Long term/short term 
issues problem? Am I nuts for trying it?
