You can go up to 90 minutes in iDVD 2.

The 120 minutes is based on less optimal compression quality, which can
be achieved in DVD Studio (which allows you to tweak compression), but not
in iDVD, which uses a fixed compression method (higher quality for 60 min
or less, medium quality for 60-90 minutes).
