your 933 will handle ata 133 no problem - it has 64 bit PCI slots. (note:133MB/s is only a theoretical limit, my usual transfer rates on a QS 867 with an ata 133 card are about 50-70 MB/s depending on size of files, etc.) the card included with the drive might not work, but the fact that it is promise chip based *might* help... sonnet uses the promise chipsets, and i believe i have read on www.xlr8yourmac.com that some promise based pc ide cards have been successfully flashed for mac use using sonnet's utilities. sandor On Sunday, March 30, 2003, at 12:10 PM, jrs wrote: > Great to know about the requirement for the ATA 133 card so I can > access the entire 200gb in my new and soon to arrive hard drive. > Thanks so much for the feedback! Question...Will my Quicksilver 933 mhz machine (purchased in > 3/2002) support transfer rates as high as 133MBS?
