[G4] Internal Hard Drive over 120 GB?

All,

    I have a G4 PowerMac DP 533 and have been told by the Apple Genius at
our local store and Apple Care as well that I can only use a 120 GB hard
drive max for an internal drive.  As I can get a 180 GB drive for the same
price I'd rather use that one.  Has anyone been able to use an internal HD
bigger then 120 GB by using a PCI IDE controller?  I was told by someone
else that by using that it would allow me to install and use the bigger
drive.  Thank you.
