I suggest that you bite the bullet and go to Frye's Electronics to get a Mac OS compatible USB printer and hook it up to one of the G3s and leave it there for your kids to use with their homework. The resistance to Mac LANs by some companies is so entrenched that you will just give yourself a migraine headache trying to work around their proprietary systems.
