Warranties and Non-Apple Memory

Hi,

My G4 is in the shop, and it's under AppleCare, so it should
be all right. Prolly broken fan or crashed hard drive, by the
sound of it.

But I'm wondering, all the memory, etc. is 3rd party stuff -
and the fine print on AppleCare excludes 3rd party software,
and it made me think about the hardware too. They wouldn't
not fix my computer because I had a chip in it, would they?
(yes, I'm always paranoid.)

The memory came with the computer, so it should not be
a problem.

I ask because Apple's first response earlier when I was
getting OS X panics was I should take out all the 3rd party
memory chips (all the chips, basically) and get rid of them.
That seemed absurd to me. When I moved up to Jaguar,
the problem went away.

What's your take on all this?
