Could it be possible that the update to 10.2.8 requires an original G3 or G4 and won't install to an upgraded machine? I mention this because I do not have any experience with upgraded processor machines. All mine are in original-out-of-the-box condition except for little things like CD-RW/DVD readers, more RAM, bigger HDs, and upgraded Zip drives.
