[G4] G4 wireless reception improved?

i dont have an old G4 laptop to compare it to, but my wife's rev b 12 
inch powerbook seems to have very good reception. from about 100 yards 
away she still gets "2 bars" of reception. this is with a G4 running as 
a base station, so i think it might even be better with a standalone 
base station. its also through a brick wall...

btw, the antenna's on her pb are located on the upper sides of the 
screen, one on each side.
