Hi Folks,

Has anyone used OpenShiva to extract the video from a DVD?  The program
was mentioned in Macworld, April 2004 p.78.

Since I do not know much about all the different formats, I just used
the defaults.  According to the article, this program should make a MP4
file that can be played in QuickTime and used in iMovie.

The MP4 file did open in QuickTime, but there was no sound.  It would
not open in iMovie 3 at all.

Has anyone tried this?  What programs do you use to rip video and audio
from DVDs?  I am not thinking of copy protected DVDs.  I am thinking of
DVDs I burned with iDVD 3.0.1.

I have the basic version of QuickTime 6.4, OS 10.3.3 and iMovie 3.0.3.
