actually, according to many, including david shayer in this article:

have pointed out that the OPPOSITE of what you are saying is true. it 
seems the windows FAT file systems is/has been much much more 
susceptible to file fragmentation, and that the HFS+ file system (came 
out with os 9??) was much much better than other file systems.
