[G4] G4 upgrades

Have any of  you tried to encode any video with the new  processor I 
had done some with Toast 6 in the DVD part with my 400 it took about 12 
hours for 1 hour  imported Digital 8 video. I also have 1.7 gig of ram  
so I was thinking about updating my  processor .
So is there one  Brand that you all like better then the other
