[G4] FTP via Airport Extreme

Your base station is acting as a NAT gateway, and your powerbook is hidden 
behind it. You can get out, but you can't get in - nobody on the wire side 
of the base station can see what's behind it. You shouldn't be able to 
connect to it (from the wire side) with anything - file sharing, ssh, etc. 
- though you can connect *out* just fine.

The easiest thing is to turn off NAT on the base station. Then everything 
works normal. The downside is that you need to have a separate IP address 
for your powerbook (one visible from wherever you want to FTP from).

The other possibility is to do port mapping: 
<http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=150745>. The port number 
for FTP is 21. You will probably have to use "active" (not passive) FTP to 
connect to your server (unless there's a NAT helper for FTP built into the 
base station software - I don't know that).
