G4 Will Not Shut Down with iMic

Help.....  I have new Griffin Technology iMic and as long as it is plugged
into 'any' USB port my G4-450 AGP will not stay shut down. At first I
thought is was a classic port contention issue - every USB device seems to
want one of the two primary Mac ports.  This is not the case because I
finally gave the iMic one of the two primary ports.   When I issue the
10.3.4 Shut Down command. the machine shuts down then after a few seconds it
starts up again. The only way (other than pulling the power plug) I can get
it to shut down is to remove the iMic.

Any suggestions? Wonder what could be causing the RESTART.
