You're right, but updating takes money and hours of time, both of which
I do not have. Plus working out the quirks. Most likely I will simply 
buy
a new machine next February, and avoid the whole process.

Well, mostly. I will still have to deal with programs that flake out 
under
10.3 that work fine now.
