[G4] IDVD with a Titanium Powerbook??

My friend has a Titanium 1 Ghz powerbook with a CD ROM drive. He wants 
to burn dvds using Apple's IDVD software. He is interested in either an 
internal or external drive. What are his options?

He has not been able to get any helpful advice from Apple.  He bought a 
LeCie external burner but then returned it when he was told by LeCie 
that it was compatible with iDVD.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
