The processor used in the 1.8 GHz and related upgrades is from a different chip series. While they run cooler than older processors the newer upgrade lacks the older version's level 3 cache. The end result is that the upgrades based on the newer design performs much slower than you would be led to believe by their clock speed. You should be able to find reviews and benchmarks with a little searching. Phil
