[G4] Photo Archiving

Hi -

I've really gotten rolling with iPhoto, and would like to archive on my 
external hard drive.

I was thinking of just copying the iPhoto Libary folder over to the 
external. Is it more complicated than that?

What I want to do is get rid of all these piles of photos so iPhoto is 
a little less cumbersome.
