Two things:

Are you certain you got the CLASSIC System folder?
I suppose as soon as you touch it, it becomes active, so that may be out.
I think you could start up your computer's hard drive from the O.S. disk, then 
get inside the Classic folder and delete the System folder there.
Since you're not using it at the time, you should be able to do that.

The other thing is, you might be able to highlite the Classic System folder, 
and rename it as OLD SYSTEM. When an O.S. starts up, so I'm told, the CPU 
starts looking for a *System* folder. It will not recognize a folder called 
"Old System" regardless of content.
