Hi,

I have a dual 500 setup, and I added a SATA PCI card to my G4, can't remember the make, and the speed increase for me was worth the effort. It's a little heartbreaking at first, because you always get the folder with the question mark at startup before it kicks over to the SATA disk, but the throughput is impressive.

I'd be very interested in those benchmarks someone was thinking of doing - it would be interesting to know if firewire could compete.

 A few questions, G tech seems to be well thought of
and they use Hitachi drives. some of the ones i see,
say Hitachi OEM and some are Hitachi/IBM OEM,  is
there any diff in quality and last is internal faster
than external.Using firewire 400.
