[G4] how to trash "locked items?"

Marla,
	All the offered suggestions should work; however, I've found 
the easiest way to force trash emptying is to chose "Secure Empty 
Trash" under the Apple Menu. In the few instances where that hasn't 
been effective, holding the option key while choosing "Secure Empty 
Trash" has worked.
