[G4] apple Tv

You know how sometimes we would record a show to watch later on a VCR  
I have been wondering about ways to do this but some how get it to my  
Mac  that has the superdrive to do it with out buying a DVDr  
standalone unit .
so I'm not sure if you can do this with Apple TV or with EyeTV
Also there are the DVDr units that have hard drives in them it might  
work but can they Record Dual -layer disk?
