[G4] Mac classic won't boot

Hello,

I was running Classic on my APG G4 for some time with no problems. 
Recently as Classic begins to start up I get the following message, 
"The system software on the startup disk only functions on the original 
media, not if copied to another drive."  I have tried to start up from 
an Apple Os 9 disk and get the same message. I thank anyone who can 
help me out with this situation.
