Greetings ( + )!( + ) Dan you have a USB cord that doesn't have a VCC wire. It's either not there or it is broken. If you have an ohm meter measure all of the connection, there's four (4) and they all should measure zero ohms from end to end. And they all should measure infinity between each other.
