[G4] upgrade or buy new mac?

ahh, I had forgoten about Quartz Extreme. I purchased an upgrade to  
my video card years ago for my DP500, a GeForce4 MX. But if I  
remember correctly, didn't one of the subsequent upgrades to the Mac  
OS disable Quartz Extreme for our machines later?
