I think you could also get away with buying a DVD writer in the  
store. I got a Samsung drive for the job, and it's been great.  
Granted, I've never used it under a version older than Tiger, but  
then I doubt that's made a difference. I also use a free program  
called SimplyBurns - not as feature rich as Toast, but free as in  
open source. It does require Leopard or Tiger, however.
