But Firewire (or USB) drives are still slower than internal ones.
Even ATA/66 is faster, and adding a SATA drive and controller card
would be waaay faster. I'd advise replacing the internal ATA drives,
which are subject to the 128GB size limitation, with a big SATA drive
or two.
